Εχθές δώθηκαν τα Ευρωπαϊκά Βραβεία Μουσικής του Mtv ή αλλιώς EMAs στην πόλη Rotterdam με παρουσιάστρια την Bebe Rexha. Οι Καναδοί καλλιτέχνες κυριάρχησαν στα MTV EMA 2016, με τους Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Drake και The Weeknd να πάρουν από ένα τουλάχιστον βραβείο. Ο Shawn Mendes παρέλαβε το βραβείο για την κατηγορία Best Male ενώ η Lady Gaga που ήταν απούσα από την τελετή κυριάρχησε σε δύο κατηγορίες ως Best Female και Best Look. Δύο βραβεία κέρδισε και ο Justin Bieber, ο οποίος ήταν επίσης απών. Μεγάλη έκπληξη της βραδιάς το γεγονός ότι αν και η Beyonce είχε τις περισσότερες υποψηφιότητες δεν κατάφερε να κερδίσει σε καμία από τις πέντε κατηγορίες που ήταν υποψήφια.
