Την Πέμπτη 12/4 δόθηκαν τα βραβεία ECHO Music Awards στο Βερολίνο με μεγάλο νικητή τον Ed Sheeran, ο οποίος κυριάρχησε στις κατηγορίες album of the year, international artist και hit of the year. Τα βραβεία οργανώνονται από το Ινστιτούτο Πολιτισμού της Γερμανικής Μουσικής Βιομηχανίας – Cultural Institute of the German Music Industry (BVMI). Το ένα τρίτο των υποψηφίων άνηκαν στην Universal Music, η οποία έφυγε συνολικά με 19 βραβεία! Ο Frank Briegmann, πρόεδρος και CEO της Universal Music στην Κεντρική Ευρώπη δήλωσε:
I am particularly happy about the diversity represented by our award winners. That is a result of our policy to engage in a great number of different genres, to nurture new talents, and to ensure maximum impact for our artists, both online and offline.
